Mogadishu (Bulacle.com) - The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Somalia has issued a press release emphasizing the importance of tomorrow's presidential election in Somaliland, which is set to be a direct contest among three parties: Kulmiye, Wadani, and UCID. Candidates Muse Bihi, Abdiraham Irro, and Faisal Ali Warabe are vying for the presidency.
The Federal
Government has taken a proactive stance, urging the Somaliland Election
Commission to ensure secure and orderly election administration to avert
potential chaos following the results.
"The
Ministry of Interior calls on the Somaliland Elections Committee to ensure that
the election administration is in safe hands," the statement read,
highlighting the election's significance for Somalia's governance and
development.
This warning
follows critical remarks from President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who acknowledged
the recurring nature of elections in Somaliland and the challenges they pose.
As the
election campaign wraps up, all eyes are on Somaliland as voters prepare for a
pivotal day tomorrow, November 13.
